Cinematographer & Vintage Film - Feedback & Support

Welcome!

Cryptomatte not match with beauty output.

Hi, great Plugin, but I got an issue with cryptomatte. The crypromatte does not match with the rendering output. It is slightly more wide-angle. The Settings of the Camera are default. I used the Highend Cinema with a High End 012mm Lens from your preset. Please can you check this, otherwise the plugin is not working for me. An if I can make one more wish, an adjustment value for the Chromatic Aberation would be nice. It is sometimes to strong in some cases. Is there also any chance to get access to the post process and Lensdirt settings by camera? Adjusting with postprocess overall also influence the other cameras. THX

Hey Tom, welcome aboard!

As you already found out, Cryptomatte is not rendering the Lens File by default. This is an engine limitation and can sadly not be fixed from the outside by a plugin. The things you can actually address via plugins is surprisingly limited.

You can adjust the strength of the Chromatic Aberration already in the lens preset file, assuming you are using Cinematographer PRO.

Support for Lens Dirt Masks in the lens presets is a great suggestion! I will put it on the to-do list for the next major update.

Thanks for your feedback and I hope this information helps!

After a little research, I found out, the cryptomatte does not read the distortion of the lens file. Therefore I tested a render with disabling the barrel and distortion. It work, but this is more a temporal workaround. May you can try to find a way to handle this under the hood, it would be great! THX
