Gameplay Camera
Can the camera be used for a gameplay camera?
Welcome!
Can the camera be used for a gameplay camera?
Is there a way to optimise the camera for real time? I am only getting 5 - 10 fps when using the camera plugin.
Good news! I managed to create a camera component variable and reference it from the Cine Camera Actor.
Porblem solved!
Glad to hear!

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. That's very helpful but i still need to reference the camera to my blueprints as a camera component variable. Is there a way to do this? as this is still a child actor component.

Hi and thanks for getting in touch!
Yes the Cinematographer Camera can be used for gameplay and can replace every Cine Camera Actor or Camera Actor since it inherits from them.
Let us know, if we can help you with anything else!
I manged to import the Real Camera Actor inside my character blueprint as a child actor. But the issue is i am not able to reference the actual camera inside the blueprint. I am not sure if this is the correct method of doing it.
Looking forward to your answer.
Hello,
I want to replace the default third person camera with the real camera. Inside the blueprint when i import the "Real Camera Component" i can't see any options for camera setup. Could you please explain how to do this correctly?

We kept a close eye on performance while developing Cinematographer and already improved on all aspect that we could. The default camera is using code and variables we are not allowed to use in a plugin and the needed workarounds are not as performant as we would like, but there is no way around it.
The performance hit gets more noticeable on very low end setups but hit shouldn’t be really that significant. Could you tell me what your PC setup is and what your frame rate with a default camera is?
To increase performance, you could try to disable two features. Auto exposure costs the most performance, so if your scene doesn’t feature a wide range of contrast, see if that works for you. The second one is Lens Un-sharpness, the blur effect can cause a performance dip, especially on higher resolutions. Just disable it in the cameras feature list and see if that improves performance.
I hope that helps!
