Lens Distortion on Utility passes

Hello,

I'm trying to apply lens distortion to additional render passes like Cryptomatte and ZDepth, which currently don't include it like my beauty passes do. How can I ensure that all my render passes have the same lens distortion effect? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Hey again!

I totally see your problem but I sadly don’t have a good answer for that. The distortion in Cinematographer is achieved via a post process effect and not achievable on a different way, since even Unreal Lens Distortion is post process based. That means, that the render passes will always be rendered first and the distortion applied last, the problem at hand. I currently can’t verify if the distortion via Unreal Lens Files may have some deeper engine integration to avoid that problem, so maybe you could try to use a Lens File in the Real Lens and see if that works. If not, the only other option would be, to disable the distortion in the Cinematographer feature settings of the camera and then apply distortion later in a post production software. I’m sorry and we would love to have a solution for that but currently there is no technical way to achieve that.

I see what you mean. It seems impossible and you are right.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. To disable the distortion through the camera and apply it later on post. That won't be a problem.

I appreciate your response and support. :)

Thank you and keep up the good work!
