Metahuman Hair Blur

When motion blur is on the metahuman hair gets distorted and blurred when moving? This only happens during rendering and not in-game with the Cinematic Scalability on. Is there any fix to this? This only happens with the RealCamera, a way to fix it for me was disabling the RealCameraCaptureComponent, but if i keep it disabled I think i lose auto exposure and other things from real camera. What should I do?

Hey, thank you for creating this thread. We sadly can’t tell you off the cuff what the problem is so let’s try to figure out what is going wrong here. Only in rendering and not in the viewport is already very strange. Maybe the Renderer is using a different algorithm than the viewport, what results in these issues.

It looks like the issue is not only on the hair but also on the cap, right? Or is that some other indented effect?

Just to narrow it down, the problem is gone, when you render with motion blur disabled (in the advanced settings of the RealCamera), correct?

Disabling the RealCaptureComponent just disables Auto Exposure. Is your scene lit with physical correct light values? Unreal motion blur gets exponentially worse with lower Shutter speeds. What is your current Shutter speed and could you try to set the Auto Exposure Mode to Shutter Priority and test 30 and 60 fps? Does that mitigate the problem?

Thank you for the screenshots they already helped to get an idea what the problem is. I hope any of the above points help to solve the issue.
