Hey, I’m sorry to hear that you don’t immediately see the benefits of Cinematographer Pro.

Here are a just some of the benefits you get from using it:

Physically Correct Camera

In comparison to the default cameras, Cinematographer automatically sets realistic values for aperture, shutter speed and ISO while auto exposing. That gives you scene appropriate depth of field, motion blur and ISO noise, which makes the image much more realistic! For this to work correctly you also have to use physically correct light values. Check out this video for more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlH_PxJjetM

Camera Body & Lens System

Reusable photorealistic camera and lens presets that give your work a consistent and distinct look. Do you want your project to look like a expensive Hollywood movie, use the High-End Cinema Cameras & Lenses. Do you want your scene to look like shaky handheld shot phone video? Use the Phone presets to get the authentic look. With Cinematographer Pro you can also create your own presets to simulate your own or your favorite camera gear.

UI Cleanup

Cinematographer puts all the important camera settings front and center. No need to scroll infinite sub menus to change depth of field or focus.

New Image Effects

The real world is flawed, in Unreal everything is perfect. Cinematographer simulates the real flaws of real camera gear, so with cheaper gear, the corner of the image may get blurred, distorted or fringing may appear. You can disable all of these effects in the features tab but they add tremendously to the photorealism.

I don’t know what your expectations were coming in but here I outlined why I think Cinematographer is a must have for any project. I hope you will give Cinematographer another shot! Maybe try out some different presets and see if something works for you. The High-End Cinema Camera always looks great if you want a clean and prestige looking image.

If you are still not happy with your purchase feel free to refund it. Fab gives you a 14 day money back refund option. Here you will find more information on that: https://www.fab.com/refund-policy

Since you need to contact the seller first, and you already did, show them this post of my approval for a refund.

All the best!

i wanna play around with it more.... a little minute with it .... i saw that it gives some kind of lens and their distortions but the big question that i have is what camera it is emulating ..... Arri, Panasonic or etc .......

"Do you want your project to look like a expensive Hollywood movie, use the High-End Cinema Cameras & Lenses"   there are alot it so which one
I also discovered i still have to set the ratio/sensor size for the type of camera i want in the camera itself

which till leaves me in question is the plugin just overlaying filters and controlling my exposure ...or its actually emulating a camera effect but not the whole properties of the camera.

One other thing is can i use it with Black eye camera or a normal cinecamera without using the real camera component
i am not saying the plugin is bad it is good but i wanna understand it use case in these
i apologize for this alot of questions

Glad to hear you will give it another go!

The High-end Cinema Camera is based on the ARRI Alexa 65 and the High-end Cinema Lenes are based on the ARRI Cinema Lenes. The Budget Cinema Camera is based on a Blackmagic 4K.

For the presets you don’t have to set sensor size or aspect ratio. These values are saved in the camera preset and are applied automatically, when chosen/applied in the Real Camera. If you are creating new presets, you have to enter the values once in the setup.

“or its actually emulating a camera effect but not the whole properties of the camera.”

I don’t completly understand what you mean by that. The default Unreal camera just changes exposure automatically, without ever changing shutter speed, aperture or ISO. Cinematographer is Exposure Value based and the new auto exposure adjusts these values (and many more that are connected) to reach the needed exposure. That is why a scene will always look more believable and realistic through a Cinematographer camera.

Additionally Cinematographer also adds a list of new post-process effects to simulate camera and lens characteristics, e.g. Dynamic Range, ISO Noise, Pincushion Distortion or Purple Fringe.

To get the benefits of Cinematographer, you have to use a Real Camera. All of the functionality is in the Real Camera Actor and Real Camera Component.

I hope that answers your questions, cheers!
